Alice Youth Leaders Announced

Desert Knowledge Australia in partnership with Centralian Senior College, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College, St Philip’s College and Yirara College has launched a new intercultural youth leadership program in Alice Springs.

This year sees the first intake of year 10 students, with participants from each of the four senior schools of Alice Springs. The group will take part in a program of activities designed to develop their leadership skills and engage with the community and is built on the same key principles that have established the successful Adult Desert Leadership program.

John Huigen, CEO Desert Knowledge Australia said “We are thrilled to announce the successful students who are part of Youth Desert Leadership this year.”

“This is a great opportunity for our youth to connect with people outside their usual social circle, meet with community leaders and take some action in Alice Springs. Over the next month they will be developing ideas and a plan for a community project”.
